The GR20 is considered to be the most beautiful trek and GR in the world. This mythical trail is the most sought-after by lovers of ‘Grandes Randonnées (GR)’. Follow the guide!

Breathtaking landscapes

The southern section - the most accessible - stretches for 80km in an alpine atmosphere that wraps around the Aiguilles de Bavella to reach Monte Alcudine at 2134 metres. The route takes you past lush green oases at the foot of the mountains: the famous pozzines.

To the north, the high altitude gaps are full of technical passages. You have to be brave and stay on course... before a well-earned break in front of a small glacial lake! Then it's on to the great granite barrier of the Cirque de la Solitude, a breathtaking backdrop with vertiginous walls, an emblematic stage of the GR20.

Authentic atmosphere

At the refuges, you can chat with muleteers and other shepherds faithful to pastoral traditions, and savour sheep's cheeses such as Brocciu to build up your strength!

With binoculars, you can spot protected species such as the mouflon sheep with its large spiral horns or a bearded vulture in full flight. Cyclamen and Corsican peony also make an appearance along the way, as do myrtle, arbutus and minty eucalyptus.
