Every Parisian district has its tribe: from the 3rd to the 19th every arrondissement has its own style and feel. The same is true for Paris’s nightlife. The city is full of entertainment venues, and boasts and extraordinary array of clubs and events for those who come to life at night! Whether you’re a BoBo (Bourgeois Bohemian), Hippie-Chic, Hipster, or Rock’n’Roll hill billy, you’ll find the style you’re looking for in Paris. And remember no matter what you choose to do make the most of your Parisian nights - you can always sleep it off tomorrow!

Legends reborn

If you’re looking for legendary clubs with international appeal Les Bains Douches reopened in March 2015, and now accommodates a concert space, restaurant and hotel – all with a chic Bohemian feel to them. It has kept its famous swimming baths which playedhost to Andy Warhol, Mick Jagger, Prince and David Bowie, at the height of the New Wave.

Rock and Roll more your thing? Head to the Bus Palladium in SoPi (also known as South Pigalle) to a venue frequented by none other than The Beatles!

In or out?

A veritable institution in Paris’s nightlife, The Rex Club has always had crowds dancing – in the basement of the cinema of the same name. After Disco, then Indie, it became a big name in Techno in the 90s thanks largely to the success of DJ Laurent Garnier.

There isn’t a VIP area in sight as The Rex owes its reputation to a total focus on the music itself, and on installing one of the World’s best sound systems.

More of a VIP addict? Chez Raspoutine has been one of Paris’s hottest venues for the past few years. Popular with the city’s jet set and golden triangle crowd, this former Russian cabaret has kept its plush red velvet Baroque feel, along with its name. If VIP is not quite your thing then Raspoutine’s neighbour Le Madam has a variety of styles on its playlist: from House, to Rock, to Electro music.

For something a little more quirky you could try ShowCase – located beneath the Alexandre III Bridge – a former boathouse turned 3,000 person capacity venue offering a line-up of House, Techno, Hip-Hop, Trap and Bass artists. Or, head to fashionable Nüba – whose roof terrace extends views of the Seine from the top of the Cité de la Mode fashion centre.

When Art and Music unite

Paris has been pushing the boundaries between music and the visual arts for many years, helping nurture alternative concepts to traditional clubbing and concert attendance. Glazart in the La Villette district has been a pioneer in this movement, and has a large space which it devotes to contemporary creativity in all its forms. A few stops down the metro line, in the 20th district, you can find La Bellevilloise - a hub for the liberal art crowd.

Clubbing not your thing? Several of Paris’s museums have night openings of their collections and exhibitions for example, the Cartier Foundation is open on Tuesday evenings, and the Louis Vuitton Foundation at the weekends. The Palais de Tokyo is actually open until midnight every day except Tuesday, and Yoyo located in its basement plays hosts to evening events specialising in unusual and surprising performances.
