Opposite Arcachon, near Cap-Ferret, the town of Andernos-les-Bains boasts the longest pier in the Bay of Arcachon. Accessible by train from Bordeaux, it's a popular holiday destination. Here, the beautiful villas and their tranquil gardens sit alongside the bustle of the oyster-farming port and its oyster huts, so typical of the Bay. From the large jetty to the incredible villas, via the secrets of the oyster farmers and behind the scenes at the station, this treasure hunt will take you to all the nooks and crannies of Andernos-les-Bains, for a walk of around 2 hours, accessible to pushchairs.

Around thirty kilometres away, you can also discover the "Marathon de l'échasse" trail in the Val de l'Eyre. Launched in 2019 in partnership with Gironde Tourisme and the Nouvelle Aquitaine Region, it unfurls 2 km of adventures all over the town of Salles and is aimed at young and old alike.

NB: progress and health measures

All you need to follow these new-style treasure hunts is a GPS-enabled mobile phone. Download an application, choose your adventure, and set off to discover an area in a fun way, unearthing clues one by one... all the way to the treasure! The clues are geolocated, and the treasure comes in the form of a small bottle filled with badges celebrating victory.

In summer 2020, due to Covid-19, most of the badges have been replaced by digital treasures. The satisfaction of having found the location of the treasure remains intact!
