Created in 1975, the event presents around a hundred American films over ten days and welcomes actors and directors to the Normandy seaside resort. The 2025 edition will take place from 6 to 15 September. As every year, Deauville will go American between the screenings, the red carpet and the famous tables overlooking the sea...

An unmissable event at the start of the film season, the Deauville American Film Festival, has been showcasing features, shorts, as well as independent cinema through a variety of awards.

The Deauville American Film Festival is open to everyone, cinema professionals and enthusiasts alike. A total of 100 films in 8 categories will be presented to the public in three venues: the Centre International de Deauville, the Casino Lucien Barrière de Deauville and the Cinéma le Morny.

Since 1975, this unmissable film festival has hosted the biggest American stars, such as George Clooney, Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Jessica Chastain, as well as the rising stars of the "new Hollywood", from Shailene Woodley to Elle Fanning, not forgetting international stars who have come to present an American film, such as Nicole Kidman or Sean Connery...

Deauville American Film Festival's 2024 prize list 

The jury for the 2024 edition was chaired by French actor Benoît Magimel, who came to the attention of foreign audiences with his role in La Passion de Dodin Bouffant directed by Trân Anh Hùng, a film shortlisted for the Oscars in the international feature film category. The sharp-eyed judges included Damien Bonnard, Émilie Dequenne, Agathe Riedinger, Ludivine Sagnier, Lou Lampros and Martin Bourboulon, who had to decide between the 14 films in competition.

Alessandra Lacorazza Samudio's In The Summers was the undisputed winner of this fiftieth edition. The film was awarded both the Grand Prix and the Prix Fondation Louis Roederer de la Révélation. The Jury Prize went to Nnamdi Asomugha's The Knife, while the feature film The Strangers's Case won the Prix du Public de la ville de Deauville. This fiftieth edition of the Deauville American Film Festival was marked by a tribute to American actor Michael Douglas.
