Bordeaux Fête le Vin is back on the banks of the Garonne from 27 to 30 June 2024, with a showcase of Bordeaux and Nouvelle-Aquitaine wines, a gourmet market featuring local produce, visits by legendary tall ships, drone shows and fun activities.

Each year, an event takes place near the banks of the Garonne River. This provides visitors with an exceptional chance to encounter winegrowers and vendors who are eager to share their passion. Also, it is an excellent opportunity to explore some of the most esteemed names of Bordeaux wines, including Saint-Emilion-Pomerol-Fronsac, Médoc wines, Graves-Sauternes, and Mouton-Cadet Baron Philippe de Rothschild among others. Visitors are also offered a "Tasting Pass".

Wine and Food

Wine and food are a perfect match. At the gourmet market, you can find tasty and sustainable products that cater to all palates. You can enjoy Gironde cheeses, Basque charcuterie, duck from Landes, artisanal ice cream from Corrèze, and delightful cannelés from Bordeaux. You can also indulge in delicious Arcachon Basin oysters. Food vans will also be available that will serve fish from Cap Ferret, farm products from local producers, and meat from the Limousin region. This will provide an overview of the specialties of New Aquitaine.

Prior to the event, fans of food and wine can assemble at numerous establishments in Bordeaux and the surrounding areas, as well as at unique locations, for a social meal together.

There will be tall ships and entertainment accessible to all.

Once again this year, enthusiasts of historic sailing ships can visit three impressive boats anchored at the quays of the Garonne: Le Belem, the last three-masted barquentine in France, El Galeon, and the Santa Maria Manuela. These ships are certain to attract the attention of even the youngest visitors.

Bordeaux Wine Festival is not only for adults. It offers several activities that families can enjoy together while learning about winegrowing. The activities for children include making barrels on the dockside, sensory experiences, wine science workshops and wooden games.

Visitors can also witness a drone show in the night sky above Bordeaux. It will be enchanting!

An environmentally friendly gathering

Promoting conviviality, sharing and respect for nature, is what you can expect from this new edition. It features locally sourced products and highlights certified or organic viticulture, which you can learn more about here

Other sustainable actions taken by Bordeaux Fête le Vin organizers involve promoting eco-friendly transportation by providing public transport access with the 'Tasting Pass'. They also aim to reduce carbon emissions and waste through various means, including implementing a zero-plastic target and providing pocket ashtrays for cigarette butts and collecting oyster shells.

Bordeaux aims to become a "responsible international destination" as it works towards its ISO20121 certification, due in 2021. This ensures that Bordeaux Fête le Vin 2023 can highlight that 75% of its vineyards have been certified as environmentally-friendly. The vintage is expected to be exceptional!
