Monumental works, street installations, artistic performances... For three days in the autumn, contemporary art fever invades Paris as part of the Paris+ international fair organised by Art Basel (formerly Fiac). See you there from 20 to 22 October 2023!

A not-to-be-missed Parisian event for lovers of contemporary art, the Art Basel Paris fair, formerly known as FIAC, returned to the heart of the legendary Grand Palais in 2024, after two editions relocated to the Grand Palais Éphémère on the Champs-de-Mars due to major renovations.

The event features a selection of modern and contemporary art and design from 195 galleries in some forty countries. As was the case in 2024, the next edition of Art Basel Paris is also likely to feature Parisian galleries, which accounted for a third of the exhibitors, as well as emerging artists. Last year, a number of invited galleries were also able to showcase atypical early works (from before 1900).

Contemporary art also on show in the heart of Paris

A number of works are also on display outdoors in the Tuileries Gardens, Place Vendôme, the Chapelle des Petits-Augustins at the Beaux-Arts de Paris, the Palais d'Iéna and the forecourt of the Institut de France, the courtyard of the Hôtel de la Marine, the Domaine du Palais Royal, Avenue Winston Churchill and Hôtel de Sully.  Details of the works accessible to the public will be unveiled shortly.

Debates and conferences at the Petit Palais

Art Basel Paris will also be hosting conferences and debates on contemporary art, open to all, from October 24 to 26 (dates to be confirmed) at the Petit Palais. In recent editions of ‘Conversations’, curators Pierre-Alexandre Mateos and Charles Teyssou have discussed the avant-garde artists Chantal Akerman and Antonin Artaud, the links between works of art and the world of fashion, the contemporary myths created by Walt Disney, and the dialogue between Paris, North Africa and the Caribbean.

The public programme for 2025 will be announced shortly.
