Embark on a classic yet essential escapade for two in Montmartre. Spend a day wandering the lively streets of this chic Bohemian neighborhood. Share special moments in authentic cafes or trendy hot spots and enjoy spectacular panoramic views from one of the highest points in Paris. 9am

Le Progrès Marais, Rue de Bretagne, Paris, France

What better a way to begin your romantic day out in Montmartre than with a heart to heart at breakfast? Make your way to Le Progrès, a typical Parisian café on Rue des Trois Frères and order coffee and croissants. The Art-Nouveau style and little outdoor terrace is exactly what you would expect from a café in the French capital, and it’s a great way to kick off the day.

Marché Saint-Pierre : Magasin de tissus & Mercerie, Rue Charles Nodier, Paris, France

Since you’re still at the bottom of the hill, why not pay a visit to the unmissable Saint-Pierre market? Wander around the stalls selling fabric, all sorts of  textiles and thousands of buttons in every color imaginable. Who knows, you might just comes across some inspiration for your wedding suit or dress?

 Climb up the steps (or use the funicular railway) up to the Sacré Cœur Basilica. Once at the top, take a moment to enjoy one of the best views of Paris from the platform hand-in-hand.  Admire the rooftops of the capital city before you, try to spot the city’s iconic monuments and discuss your hopes and dreams for the future. Visit the basilica, free-of-charge. Marvel at the stunning mosaic in the choir, one of the biggest in the world in addition to the exceptional stained-glass windows and the imposing grand organ. For an additional spectacular 360° view of the capital, you can choose to pay a small fee to climb up to the Dôme du Sacré Cœur

Treat yourselves to a lunch at Hôtel Particulier, a stunning hidden gem at the end of an alley and surrounded in greenery. At this former recreational estate, choose from the gourmet bistro-style menu of seasonal dishes. In the summer, the restaurant opens from the Grand Salon out into the magnificent garden (make sure you book a table).

Place du Tertre, Place du Tertre, Paris, France

After lunch, make your way to the Place du Tertre which is a famous hotspot for artists and their easels. To take home a souvenir of your day together, get your portrait painted in one of the most iconic places of Montmartre.

Jardin Renoir

Next, make your way behind the museum of Montmartre and wander around the pretty Renoir gardens and admire the stunning view of the Clos Monmartre vines as you whisper sweet nothings into each other’s ears.

3:30pm

Le clos Montmartre

Go to the corner of the Rue des Saules and the Rue Saint-Vincent to get a bit closer to the Clos Monmartre. There are more than 1,700 organic vines planted there in perfectly aligned rows, and the peace and quiet is a stark contrast to the bustling Place du Tertre. The onlt time you can visit the vineyard, is during the Fête des Vendanges (harvest festival), which is held the second weekend of October every year.

La Maison Rose, Rue de l'Abreuvoir, Paris, France

As you continue your stroll, you'll encounter some iconic landmarks such as the Lapin Agile, the Maison Rose, and the Moulin de la Galette. Make sure not to overlook Villa Léandre. Nestled on a quaint, hidden street accessible from Avenue Junot, you'll discover its charming houses and artists' studios, making it a must-see stop along your journey.

On this romantic day out, you can't possibly miss taking a photo together in front of the ‘Mur des Je t'aime’ (I Love You Wall) by artist Frédéric Baron. These declarations of love are written in 300 different languages and dialects, and you can see them for yourself at the Square Jehan Rictus, Place des Abbesses. Then go for a delicious, traditional afternoon snack at La Bossue, on Rue Joseph Maistre.

Quartier des Abesses

After indulging in your sweet treat, be sure to immerse yourself in the beauty of the square and district of Les Abbesses. Parisians hold this area dear to their hearts, renowned for its village-like atmosphere and authentic charm. It's an excellent opportunity to explore some wonderful artisan boutiques and pay a visit to the Church of Saint-Jean de Montmartre.

Round off this wonderful day together with a drink on the rooftop of the Terrass hotel. On the 7th floor, toast to your love for one another surrounded by the rooftops of Paris. This place is covered and heated in winter, and you don’t need to make a prior booking. Feeling peckish? The bar has a selection of elegant finger food. You could also go for dinner at Chez Edmond, the panoramic restaurant also on the 7th floor (make sure you book a table).
